Production of Purebred Stocks
In 2002, there are 825 purebred calves born at the PCC network centers and farmer-cooperators’ level (Table 3). These are potential sources of replacement stocks and/or future breeding animals.

Germplasm Stocks
As of 2007, there are some 1,738 purebred buffaloes maintained at the institutional facilities (Table 1). On the other hand, there are 1,302 buffaloes maintained at the farmer-cooperators level, forming part of the germplasm pool of purebred buffaloes (Table 2).
